The Landlord Protection Policy provides the following benefits:

Cover for loss of rental income to a maximum of 6 months
Cover of legal costs up to R120 000 per annum
Handling of the legal procedure by selected legal experts
Obtaining an eviction order where necessary

WHO SHOULD THINK ABOUT THIS COVER?

The Landlord Protection Policy is suitable for and available to all owners of fixed properties who enter into written lease agreements for residential purposes. If the property is leased by an agency the necessary arrangements can be made with the agency to incorporate the product into existing or future leases.

HOW WILL THE PAYMENT OF PREMIUMS WORK?

Keeping in mind that life can be hectic, monthly premium payments through debit order will streamline the payment process for your convenience.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST YOU?

The minimum premium for rental income up to R3 800 p.m. is R135-00 per month. Thereafter it is 3.5% of the monthly rental income.

A once off excess payment of 50% of your monthly rental income is payable if you claim.

TAX BENEFITS

For most landlords, the cost of the Landlord Protection Policy can be deducted from their rental income when determining their tax position. (Note: As each person’s tax position can vary, it is suggested you discuss your potential tax benefits from this insurance with your personal tax consultant.)

CLAIMS NOTIFICATION AND SETTLEMENT

In the event of your tenant defaulting you simply need to notify Tenrisk within 96 hours of the day the rent was payable in order to initiate the claims process. Valid claims for the loss of rental income will be settled within 48 hours.
